Hey guys,

I’m setting a new challenge starting this weekend where we will work through the ragtime arrangement and lessons Jonny did for “Ode to Joy”

The aim is to complete one page a week and to post progress updates on the forum and / or videos here or the Facebook group.

It would be great you joining the challenge!

Let’s do this!!

I think i'll have to skip this challenge for now. I don't mind a challenge but this looks a slightly longer course with 3 lessons, so I need to focus a bit on finishing some of the other stuff before taking on a longer challenge 🙂

Also, if i'm honest, i'm struggling to hear the ode to joy tune in the background.

Finally started this today!!  It’s a tough one!  Why does Jonny make it look so easy?  Went through the Lesson 1 video and practiced page 1 up to the B section.  It’s coming along ....S—L—O—W—L—Y!

My fingers in my right hand are a bit sore after playing through the first page for about an hour.  Anyone else getting finger fatigue/soreness?  I think I was doing a lot of 5-2 finger stretches in the rag rolls.  Maybe I need to alter my fingering.

This is gonna be a fun one!!

@Chris W I've already come the realization that I'm not gonna get it to 250 BPM...that's just crazy.  I think my hands would spontaneously combust 🔥.   And there's a rumor that Jonny has an extra invisible finger on each hand and that he can bend the space/time continuum with his mind.  🤣😂.  Seriously, I think 200 BPM is a great goal, although I'll be happy if I can get through the whole thing at 175 BPM.  I got the first page up to 140 BPM today and my 2nd page is currently at...….80 BPM 🐌 🐌🐌  You know what though, it's actually really coming along considering it hasn't quite been 2 weeks since I started working on this.  We'll get there...the journey is the fun part!
