Kevin M
Learned about Cy Walter the other day and listened on Youtube--Not exactly jazz, but right up my alley--sophisticated, jazzy renditions of Broadway tunes. This is what I aspire to mostly. Also am blown away by Earl Wilde's Gershwin--often more Lisztian than jazzian, but always amazing.
Sharon Kae D
Hi Kevin Thank you for sharing. I had never heard of either Walter or Wilde. Earl Wilde's interpretation of Gershwin's "Embraceable You", is perhaps, one of the most beautiful arrangements I have ever heard. Very Lisztian, as you say. I will check out more their works thanks to you. Best wishes on you piano journey!
Kevin M
Hi, Sharon--the moral here--so, so many amazing pianists in this world, most of whom I will never hear or hear of. I just learned of Cy Walter the other day--what a performer! Thanks for your response! And good luck to you as well--Kevin in Portland
