thoughts equals success

What do you think about 2-3 minutes prior to going to sit in front of the piano. Are your thoughts pushing you higher, or do they push you down and make you feel like you are wasting your time. This part of the practicing process is actually cruicial to your growth. If you want to get better and learn songs at a fast pace, you HAVE to make sure your thoughts are meant to push you along, and not slow you down- making you feel anything less than someone gaining momentum at the bench. If they are, then you need to try and shut them out, for the time being. And you will most likely find that after playing for as little as five minutes, and while your mind is shooting off all sorts of feel good harmones, you might even forget what it was that got you down in the first place. THIS is what this instrument does to our minds. It is like a full body workout for our brains, and it helps increase some of the factors that make us who we are.

Feel good harmones are the reason we gravitate towards the piano, and I read something last night that says that if you play piano, your reaction times are increased by 10! Even if you are taking lessons! I delved into it further and found out that even if you haven't played for years, going back to it gives you some advantages as well.
