  18. Hey, I attended this Live Workshop - my first (I'm new to PWJ). Wow am I ever glad I attended! Being an attendee in the workshop was kinda like being on board a plane as it starts to take off ... at first the scenery begins to roll by slowly, but quite soon you are moving much faster, and then the plane takes off and are flying around in the air seeing all sorts of thing you never imagined!! I loved Jonny's explanation of how the jazz progression by 5ths works, particularly showing how the 7th chord pulls to the 3rd of the following chord. I've seen the "classical" explanations
  19. Hello - I just landed here! I'm excited to learn.

  28. My history at the piano is not unique--took lessons as a kid, tried all kinds of methods, playing took a backseat to career, marriage and family.  My children (ages 12- 22) and career remain priorities, but I have more time to carve out a regular practice schedule.

Unlike other facets of my life, for some reason I seem to have ADD when it comes to learning to play the piano.  I love every style of music (except European alps yodeling).  I start off with the best of intentions to focus on the foundational aspects, yet, quickly get distracted with  forays into different styles or trying to play like a favorite artist, lose all focus, and gain nothing lasting in the process.

I am going to start with the Beginner Track, and just approach each lesson as a step on the journey to my goal of being able to develop an arrangement from a lead sheet in multiple styles, i.e., whatever catches my fancy at the moment.

  29. I'm a classical pianist looking to learn blues, pop, cocktail and other music.
